GTA 6 Could Be 30 FPS at Launch, According to Creator Who Visited Rockstar
GTA 6 could launch at 30 FPS, according to a creator who reportedly visited Rockstar. Here’s what we know about GTA 6’s performance, PS5 Pro support, and the possibility of 60 FPS.

Brazilian content creator DavyJones claims that he was able to see GTA 6 running during his visit to Rockstar North. According to his account, the game was running at 30 frames per second, with the frame rate reportedly visible during the presentation.
More importantly, the creator reportedly asked Rockstar about the possibility of GTA 6 running at 60 FPS, including whether the more powerful PS5 Pro could achieve a higher frame rate.
Rockstar reportedly did not provide a definitive answer.
That distinction is important. While the creator's comments provide an interesting look at GTA 6's current performance, Rockstar has not officially confirmed that the final game will be locked to 30 FPS.
Why Would GTA 6 Target 30 FPS?
A 30 FPS target would not necessarily come as a major surprise considering the technical ambition of GTA 6.
Rockstar is building one of the most detailed open-world games ever created, with a massive version of Vice City and the wider state of Leonida. The game features highly detailed environments, dense crowds, advanced character animations, realistic vehicles, improved lighting and an extensive range of interactive systems.
All of these features place additional demands on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Rather than sacrificing graphical quality or reducing the complexity of its open world, Rockstar could choose to prioritize visual fidelity, world simulation and consistent performance at 30 FPS.
What About 60 FPS on PS5 Pro?
The biggest question for console players is whether GTA 6 will support 60 FPS on PS5 Pro.
Sony's upgraded console offers significantly more graphics performance than the standard PS5, leading many players to expect enhanced versions of major releases.
However, a more powerful GPU alone does not guarantee a 60 FPS mode. GTA 6's frame rate will also depend heavily on CPU performance, world simulation, NPC density, physics and Rockstar's overall engine design.
If the game's simulation is heavily CPU-bound, simply increasing graphical power may not be enough to double the frame rate.
At this point, there is no official confirmation that GTA 6 will feature a 60 FPS performance mode on PS5 Pro.
30 FPS Could Still Be the Best Choice for GTA 6
While many gamers now prefer 60 FPS, a stable 30 FPS experience can still provide a smooth and cinematic presentation when the frame pacing is consistent.
This could be particularly important for GTA 6, where Rockstar appears to be prioritizing an incredibly detailed world rather than simply maximizing frame rate.
The developer's previous open-world games have also placed a major emphasis on atmosphere, animation quality and world detail. GTA 6 looks set to push those elements even further.
For Rockstar, maintaining a stable frame rate while preserving the game's ambitious visual and simulation systems may ultimately be more important than offering 60 FPS.
Rockstar Has Not Confirmed GTA 6's Final FPS
For now, fans should treat the GTA 6 30 FPS claim as a report rather than an official announcement.
The game is still in development, meaning Rockstar could continue optimizing its technology and performance before launch. The final console settings could also vary between PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Rockstar may eventually reveal detailed performance information closer to release.

GTA 6 30 FPS Rumor Explained
The idea of GTA 6 launching at 30 FPS may disappoint players who were expecting a 60 FPS experience, especially on PS5 Pro. However, it is far too early to consider the game's final performance locked in.
Rockstar is known for pushing its open-world technology to the limit, and GTA 6 appears to be no exception. If the choice is between a 30 FPS experience with a highly detailed, densely populated world and a 60 FPS mode that requires significant visual or simulation compromises, Rockstar may favor the former.
Until Rockstar officially reveals the game's performance modes and frame-rate targets, the safest conclusion is that GTA 6 may launch at 30 FPS, but a final 30 FPS lock has not been confirmed.
For now, GTA fans will have to wait for Rockstar's official technical details before knowing exactly how Grand Theft Auto 6 will perform on current-generation consoles.
