God of War: Laufey may have a release window — and it is sooner than most fans expected. Well known gaming insider NateTheHate has revealed that Sony Santa Monica is internally targeting a first half 2027 launch, while noting plans could still shift. The game stars Faye, wife of Kratos, voiced by Deborah Ann Woll — making her the first playable character in the franchise who isn't Kratos.

Who Is Behind The Leak:

The information comes from well known gaming insider NateTheHate, active on Reddit and X with a strong track record on PlayStation first party titles. No official release date has been confirmed by Sony Santa Monica. What Happens Next:

Santa Monica has stayed silent on the release of God of War: Laufey. A State of Play showcase could be announced in September where the game may receive a proper release date along with a new gameplay trailer.

Our Take:

A first half 2027 window makes complete sense when you look at PlayStation's release strategy. Sony has been deliberate about spacing major exclusives and God of War: Laufey is exactly the kind of title they'd want owning a full release window. That said God of War games have slipped before — Ragnarok moved from 2021 targets before landing in November 2022. Don't mark the calendar yet but this is encouraging.
